Harry goes extra mile for charity

Published

on

charitycycleTHIS WEEKEND will see popular young Tenby athlete Harry Goforth compete in all three disciplines of the Longcourse Weekend.

This is one of many events he is doing this year to raise money for The Kidney Wales Foundation. Harry will be doing the 1.2 mile swim, 75 mile bike and half marathon over three gruelling days. A talented all-round sportsman, Harry took up triathlon racing after being inspired by the Ironman Wales event, an event which he himself hopes to compete in next year when he turns 18. Currently only 16, Harry has already established himself as a top competitor who is well respected around the county. He recently competed in the Mumbles Duathlon, completing a 5k run, 32k bike and a further 5k run in just one hour and 47 minutes beating many older and more experienced athletes. With a number of events that he is planning to participate in still to come this year, including the Mumbles Triathlon, Gower Triathlon and the Cardiff 10k, Harry is keeping extremely busy and is hoping to raise a lot of money for the charity through his efforts. Harry chose The Kidney Wales Foundation after reading Tenby Kidney patient Adam Hughesí online blog ëLife on the Transplant Listí. Having known Adam through his role in Greenhill School, Harry was inspired and determined to do his bit to help swell the fundraising efforts of “Team Hughes”. Lend your support to Harry and cheer him on this weekend if you spot him on course in his blue Kidney Wales kit! If you would like to sponsor Harry then you can online at www.justgiving. com/HarryGoforth.

Willy make the council fix the road?

Published

DRIVERS in and around the Maenclochog area are still recovering today after a hardened vandal spray-painted yellow penises along a stretch of road near Morvil.
The road, just off the B4313, was targeted with graffiti because of the number of potholes scattered along it’s length.
Locals have dubbed the cock-sure artist as ‘Wanksy’ and have discovered that whoever drew the penises also wrote ‘Follow the yellow d### road’.
Some of the penises have been drawn around more sizeable potholes, but simply pointing disapprovingly at the smaller ones.
If you want to report a pothole, the chosen method is still via the Pembrokeshire County Council website.
