Caravan intruder assaults occupants

Published

on

facematchDYFED-POWYS Police is investigating after a male entered a caravan and assaulted its occupants in the early hours of Sunday, July 27, at a caravan park in St Davids.

On Wednesday, police released an e-fit of a male they would like to interview in respect of the offence. The incident occurred at approximately 2am in the Caerfai Bay caravan park. The intruder was disturbed by the occupants and the intruder then assaulted them. There were no serious physical injuries. A confrontation ensued whilst attempts were made by the occupants to apprehend him, but he managed to flee the scene through a window in the caravan. One of the occupants pursued the intruder and spoke to two men at the scene and questioned whether they had seen the offender. Police are keen to speak to these individuals as they may be important witnesses. The male is described as having a darker skin tone, round face, approx. 5’11 tall, athletic build, short dark hair and approx. 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing a dark pair of knee length shorts, and dark coloured vest top with possibly a different colour around the edging of the armholes. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Williams said: “We have worked closely with the victim to produce this e-fit. We are appealing to members of the public to let us know if they think they may have seen him recently in the area. We ask that the public consider the image carefully and contact us with any information. I’d like to reassure the community that incidents such as these are very rare in this area. There will be increased police patrols in the area whilst enquiries are continuing.” Anyone who witnessed or heard anything suspicious in the area, or who have any information that could assist the enquiry is asked to contact police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Police would like to reassure the community that incidents such as these are very rare in this area. There will be increased police patrols whilst enquiries are continuing, and they appreciate the public’s co-operation in this matter.
