GOODWICK UNITED scored four goals in the opening 20 minutes of their game as they thrashed St Clears.

Playing for the first time in 2015, Goodwick recorded their fourth straight win in the league taking them up to fifth in the table.

The home side took the lead with only five minutes gone as Rhys Dalling scored with an excellent strike from 25 yards out which flew into the top corner.

The lead was doubled soon after when Wayne O’Sullivan headed in at the back post from Rob Morgans’ corner.

With fifteen minutes gone it was 3-0 when a quick corner from Morgans found its way to Lewis Banks who side footed the ball into the net.

Five minutes later they had a fourth goal when Rob Morgans scored from the penalty spot.

Goodwick continued to dominate the game but St Clears were able to keep the score down.

Shortly after the restart Goodwick added a fifth goal when Morgans tapped in on the rebound after the goalkeeper had saved his initial effort.

The Saints did not give up and with twenty minutes to go they grabbed a consolation goal when Owain Evans scored from the penalty spot.

Goodwick will look to continue their good run of form when they take on third from bottom Angle on Saturday.

St Clears will be looking to bounce back when they take on Herbrandston.

A WALES fan has passed away while following his team with his friends and family at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Kevin Davies, a 62-year-old from Pembrokeshire, has sadly died while in the Middle East with his son and some pals to witness Wales’ first World Cup campaign since 1958.

The Pembrokeshire Herald understands that Mr Davies died of natural causes on Friday but he was not at the stadium to watch Wales’ 2-0 defeat by Iran.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed it was “supporting the family of a British man who has died in Qatar”.

His family is being offered UK consular assistance.

The Wales Football Supporters’ Group said: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Kevin Davies, of Pembrokeshire, who sadly passed away in Doha yesterday.

“The Red Wall are a family and we are here for you.”
