Man remanded in custody over alleged domestic assault and abuse order breach

Haverfordwest defendant accused of assault causing actual bodily harm and breaching court order

A HAVERFORDWEST man has been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, common assault and breaching a domestic abuse protection order.

David Guy appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday (May 18) following allegations relating to incidents in Haverfordwest.

The court heard Guy is accused of assaulting a woman and causing actual bodily harm on Saturday (May 17). He also faces a charge of common assault alleged to have taken place between May 1 and May 17.

Guy is further accused of breaching a Domestic Abuse Protection Order imposed by Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Monday (May 12).

Prosecutors allege he was prohibited from being in the company of the protected person and from using or threatening violence, but failed to comply with the order on May 17.

Magistrates remanded Guy in custody.

He is due to appear again before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 26).

Goodwick defendant accused of assault and damaging property as magistrates refuse bail

A GOODWICK man has been remanded in custody after appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court charged with assault and criminal damage.

Scott Hughes appeared before magistrates on Monday (May 18) following allegations relating to an incident in Goodwick.

The court heard Hughes is accused of assault by beating during an incident at an address in Stop and Call, Goodwick, on Saturday (May 16).

He also faces a charge of criminal damage after allegedly damaging property during the same incident.

Hughes did not enter pleas at Monday’s hearing.

Magistrates refused bail and remanded him in custody ahead of a further hearing.

The court was told bail was refused due to concerns Hughes was likely to cause injury or fear of injury to an associated person and because of concerns regarding possible interference with witnesses or obstruction of justice.

He is due to appear again before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 26).

Man found guilty of having knives at Withybush hospital

Tenby man to be sentenced next month after being convicted of possessing a hunting knife and lock knife in public

A TENBY man has been found guilty of possessing knives at Withybush General Hospital.

Sion Williams, of The Croft, Tenby, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday (May 18).

He had denied two charges of possessing a bladed or sharply pointed article in a public place.

The court heard the offences happened at Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest, on Saturday (Dec 13), when Williams had a hunting knife and a lock knife with him without good reason or lawful authority.

Williams had entered not guilty pleas in January, but was found guilty following Monday’s hearing.

He was granted unconditional bail and will return to Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court for sentence on Monday, June 8.

Magistrates ordered him to attend the next hearing.

Man jailed after breaching restraining order and assaulting two people

Haverfordwest man sentenced to 18 weeks in prison after magistrates find offences aggravated by breach of court order

A HAVERFORDWEST man has been jailed after admitting breaching a restraining order and assaulting two people during an incident earlier this year.

Paul Webber, 38, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday (May 18), where he admitted speaking to and being in the company of a protected person in breach of a restraining order imposed by the court.

The breach took place on Thursday (Apr 10).

Webber, of Haverfordwest, also admitted two counts of assault by beating arising from the same incident.

Magistrates sentenced him to 18 weeks in custody.

The court heard the offending was aggravated by the fact that Webber had breached a court order and that one of those affected was considered vulnerable.

Compensation orders were made, along with prosecution costs of £120.

All offences were ordered to run concurrently.

Magistrates imposed a victim surcharge in line with sentencing guidelines.
