Nostalgia Show named a success
Pembrokeshire saw the first West Wales Nostalgia Show held at the Plough Inn, Sageston, during the last weekend in August.
The event was organised by Hughes & John Haulage, G. D. Harries, Malcom Powell and a small group of local family and friends. 39 Lorries of all types were accompanied by 23 tractors, 42 classic cars, the fire brigade, stationary engines, off roaders and a WW1 tank replica, alongside various stalls, children’s entertainment and live music at the two day event.
The event was conducted with the aim of raising vital funds for three charities close to the hearts of the West Wales Nostalgia Show team; the Wales Air Ambulance who helped one of their close friends, Sageston School and Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.
Anna Fry, Friends of Sageston School and one of the show organisers said: “We loved every minute of organising the event and were overwhelmed by the support and participation of the lorry owners and other vehicles making the event such a spectacle and so much fun. We are so proud that our first event raised so much money. We will definitely be organising another West Wales Nostalgia Show in 2020.”
The group were incredibly grateful for the support of everyone who attended the event, exhibitors, visitors, volunteers, musical artists, those who gave their services or equipment free of charge, and local businesses who kindly donated items for the prize draw and raffle. Your support helped to raise £3200.00 for the three chosen charities.
Paul Sartori Hospice at Home provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness, including home nursing care, equipment loan, complementary therapy, bereavement and counselling support, clinical nurse specialist in palliative care, physiotherapy, advance care planning and training.
The services provided by the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home enable people in the later stages of any life-limiting illness to be cared for and to die at home with dignity, independence, pain free and surrounded by those they hold most dear, if that is their wish.
All of the services are free of charge and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, thanks to the generosity of the Pembrokeshire Community.
Further information on the charity and its services can be obtained by visiting their website www.paulsartori.org, or by phoning 01437 763223.
