Family left ‘devastated’ after fire destroys farm shop and florist
A FIRE which ravaged through a local farm shop and florist in Saundersfoot last night has left the family devastated.
The fire, which happened at Four Seasons Farm Shop and Florist, Narberth Road, Saundersfoot, started at around 9.50pm last night (Nov 11).
Crews from Tenby, Haverfordwest, Narberth and Pembroke Dock were deployed.
Fire crews left the scene at 4.21am this morning, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Taking to Facebook to inform their customers, The owners wrote: “So, I can’t believe I’m actually having to write this, us as a family are in absolute shock, disbelief and are completely heart broken.
“We received a call tonight and had the news we never expected.
“Unfortunately our farm shop caught on fire and wasn’t able to be saved, we’re just glad that luckily no one was inside or injured!”
The owners are not letting the loss of their store prevent them from fulfilling their role in the community to provide fresh produce and are making alternative arrangements.
They added: “To all our customers we just want to say how much we appreciate your support over the years and hopefully years to come! We as a family don’t plan on giving up and will be doing our best to keep you all topped up with your fresh produce.”
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 09:53pm on Thursday, 11th November 2021, Joint Fire Control received the first call to a fire at a commercial property in Narberth Road, Saundersfoot.
“Crews from Tenby, Narberth, Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock were deployed to the incident.
“The building measured approximately 40-meters by 20-meters.
“Crews extinguished the fire using eight breathing apparatus, three main jets, three hose reel jets, five thermal imaging cameras and a ground monitor. A turn table ladder from Haverfordwest was also deployed and used as a water tower at the incident.
“Police and Western Power were also in attendance.
“The Fire Service left the incident at 04:21am.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
Station Manager Andy Postlethwaite, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: “On attendance to the incident, our crews were confronted by a well-developed fire and worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent properties and extinguishing the fire.”
For anyone who has already placed orders for either veg or flowers are being asked to contact Hugh on 07976931419 to make arrangements.

Castle Inn fun runners back festive charity event
THE ANNUAL 3 Amigos Christmas toy bike run is under way this afternoon (Saturday), with hundreds of motorcyclists setting off from Pembroke to raise funds for children’s services.
Riders gathered at The Commons car park in Pembroke from around midday before departing shortly after 1:00pm. The festive convoy is travelling along its traditional route, taking in Pembroke Dock and continuing through parts of the county including Neyland, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest.

The event is organised by the 3 Amigos and Dollies Motorcycle Group and has become a much-anticipated Christmas tradition in west Wales, with toys and donations collected for children receiving care within the Hywel Dda University Health Board area.
Also supporting the event are fun runners from the Castle Inn in Pembroke, who have been fundraising in aid of the 3 Amigos. The group are pictured alongside participants from today’s run.
The 3 Amigos have been raising funds for children’s wards and health charities for more than twenty-five years, with their Easter and Christmas events continuing to make a positive difference to young patients and their families.
Organisers have thanked the public for their support and asked road users to be mindful of the large convoy as it passes through towns and villages this afternoon.
