Tenby and District Camera Club
THE JUDGING of the ‘Creative’ entries for the clubs competition held on Thursday, January 29, was judged by Martyn Pinches AFIAP, AWPF.

Dave Bolton receiving the Print Award: For ‘The Demise of an Egg’.
Martyn is based in Cardiff where he coaches and mentors many photographers as well as organising practical work shops and tutorials. He is passionate about photography and in particular photographic artistry; he grew up carrying his camera every where using Praktica, Nikon and more recently a Canon camera.
He has entered a number of exhibition salons throughout the world and has achieved a significant number of acceptances coupled with a creditable number of awards.
Martyn has recently joined the Swansea Camera Club and is a very popular judge on the circuit.
Members submitted 16 prints images and 20 digital images for Martyn to judge. He offered forthright, humorous but critical observations saying that the standard of creative photography was very high; he remarked that being a judge at the various clubs you fall into two categories, sociable and friendly or insular and unfriendly, Tenby Camera Club he admits is a very friendly and sociable club and he always feels welcome.
Before judging Martyn explained that he looks at the images for the first time on the night of judging. He told members that creativity is in the eye of the beholder, it’s what comes from the photographer’s heart, that what makes creativity special.
In the print entries Martyn marked two prints with 20 points ‘The demise of an egg’ by Dave Bolton and ‘Do you think they will notice me’ by Donna McKay. The winning photographer was Dave Bolton, 2nd place Donna McKay and in 3rd place Mike Cullis’s image ‘The Matrix’.
Following a short break for refreshments, Martyn judged the digital images awarding ‘Happy Halloween’ by Dave Bolton 1st place, 2nd place Mike – Cullis ‘Moonlight’ and in 3rd place Mike Rowe – ‘Early Bulb’.
It was a successful evening for Dave Bolton who was presented with both the club’s trophies for print and digital creative images by Martyn. The members were then entertained by Martyn who showed members images of his fashion and portrait shoots from his portfolio.

3 Amigos toy bike run under way across Pembrokeshire
Castle Inn fun runners back festive charity event
THE ANNUAL 3 Amigos Christmas toy bike run is under way this afternoon (Saturday), with hundreds of motorcyclists setting off from Pembroke to raise funds for children’s services.
Riders gathered at The Commons car park in Pembroke from around midday before departing shortly after 1:00pm. The festive convoy is travelling along its traditional route, taking in Pembroke Dock and continuing through parts of the county including Neyland, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest.

The event is organised by the 3 Amigos and Dollies Motorcycle Group and has become a much-anticipated Christmas tradition in west Wales, with toys and donations collected for children receiving care within the Hywel Dda University Health Board area.
Also supporting the event are fun runners from the Castle Inn in Pembroke, who have been fundraising in aid of the 3 Amigos. The group are pictured alongside participants from today’s run.
The 3 Amigos have been raising funds for children’s wards and health charities for more than twenty-five years, with their Easter and Christmas events continuing to make a positive difference to young patients and their families.
Organisers have thanked the public for their support and asked road users to be mindful of the large convoy as it passes through towns and villages this afternoon.
