One-year anniversary for Maisie Moo
SINCE the family charity’s establishment in April 2015 over £10,000 has been raised of which the largest amount was raised at a fun day, where more than £2000 was donated at Haverfordwest rugby club.
Over the last year the group also held a car treasure hunt, bingo, quiz nights, a medium night and very recently a race night at the glen, Haverfordwest.
Much of the money came from individuals doing sponsored events – Tasker Millward School’s sponsored walk raised £630, Alicia Taylor and Alex Osullivan’s sponsored run had £430 of donations, Louise, Hayley, Tracey, Katherine and Angela sponsored crazy golf obtained £400.
Clare Taylor and Karl Hedley Cardiff half marathon gave £246 to the charity, Andy Clark and Donna Owen did a bungee jump off the Cleddau Bridge which made a total of £971 and finally Karl Hedley ran a second Cardiff half marathon in March raising £810.
Since April last year, the charity have also had donations from many local organisations and individuals.
A Maisie Moo spokesperson said: “In December we became a registered charity our registered charity number is 1164941.
“Our objectives are to hold fundraising events throughout the year to raise as much money as possible to then be able to donate it to children in Pembrokeshire who may need help as a result of their illness or to help parents with travel costs to and from any medical appointments for their children.
“Our main reason for this charity is to try and lighten the burden a little bit for the families and Children of Pembrokeshire at an awful time in their lives.”
Two of the families we have helped are the Gray family where we donated towards Jack’s therapy and the Clynes family helping out with a few things for their daughter Lilly-Louise.
Maisie Moo said: “Over the next year we would like to help more families in Pembrokeshire and let people know we are here to help if they need us.”
If you would like our help in anyway you can contact Vanessa on 07792 773761 or sue on 07527 649289 or alternatively you can contact them through their Facebook page ‘The Maisie Moo Foundation’.
The next event the charity is hosting is a duck race on Sunday July 31 at Lower Town, Fishguard.

Group marks December meeting with charity collection and Christmas celebrations
NARBELLES WI rounded off the year with a festive December meeting featuring a bring-and-share buffet, party games and a Secret Santa gift exchange.
Members also used the occasion to support families in need across the county, collecting food items and presenting a £120 cheque to Ann Watling from Pembrokeshire Food Bank. The donation represents the proceeds of the group’s bucket collection during Narberth Civic Week 2024.
A spokesperson for the WI said the group was delighted to finish the year “with fun, friendship and a chance to give something back to the community.”

This year’s service supported two important charities — the Fire Fighters Charity and Cancer Research Wales — with all proceeds going directly towards their ongoing work.
A total of £597 was raised on the night, which will be shared equally between the two charities.
The Service thanked the congregation at Ebeneser Baptist Chapel for hosting the event, as well as everyone who gave their time, support and generosity to make the evening such a success.

3 Amigos toy bike run under way across Pembrokeshire
Castle Inn fun runners back festive charity event
THE ANNUAL 3 Amigos Christmas toy bike run is under way this afternoon (Saturday), with hundreds of motorcyclists setting off from Pembroke to raise funds for children’s services.
Riders gathered at The Commons car park in Pembroke from around midday before departing shortly after 1:00pm. The festive convoy is travelling along its traditional route, taking in Pembroke Dock and continuing through parts of the county including Neyland, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest.

The event is organised by the 3 Amigos and Dollies Motorcycle Group and has become a much-anticipated Christmas tradition in west Wales, with toys and donations collected for children receiving care within the Hywel Dda University Health Board area.
Also supporting the event are fun runners from the Castle Inn in Pembroke, who have been fundraising in aid of the 3 Amigos. The group are pictured alongside participants from today’s run.
The 3 Amigos have been raising funds for children’s wards and health charities for more than twenty-five years, with their Easter and Christmas events continuing to make a positive difference to young patients and their families.
Organisers have thanked the public for their support and asked road users to be mindful of the large convoy as it passes through towns and villages this afternoon.
